Last night after Daniel was given a consequence for some pretty unkind behavior, he ran off to his room crying. I gave him a few minutes to cool down and went in after him. When I opened the door he was sitting on his bed quietly and when I asked him if he wanted to talk he said, "God is talking to me. I can hear His voice. He's not done yet." I left so they could finish their conversation. When I asked Daniel what he and God talked about he didn't want to share.
At bed time Daniel was especially tired and very over emotional. He threw a fit when I told him it was time to brush his teeth. He yelled, "God is saying it isn't bedtime! He says I'm not tired!" Obviously that wasn't God's voice speaking that time.
This morning at breakfast Daniel told me God was occupied with talking to only him and He couldn't talk to other people right now.
Me: "Did you know God can listen and talk to every person He made all at the same time? It's one of the many amazing things God can do."
Daniel: "Can God walk on water?"
Me: "Yes, He can do anything."
Daniel: "Is that because of His super fast wheel chair with flames?"
As I looked, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. - Daniel 7:9 NIV

That is pretty awesome! You should check Daniel's room for singemarks/tire tracks the next time he's deep in discussion with Da Man.
ReplyDeleteOh I just love to hear revelations of God from kids' perspectives! What a great interpretation he has...I can just see God on a hot rod now!
ReplyDeleteWow! All I can say - wow! Isn't it amazing how God reveals Himself to children...if only I could listen with the ears of a 5 year old again...
